Imaginable Futures Announces Rise Prize Winners

Today Imaginable Futures announced the winners of its Rise Prize contest, a funding award competition for those who are working on innovative solutions for student parents. Out of over 300 applicants, the 1.55 million dollars in grants was doled out to 15 winners, funding their projects to support the educational journeys of parent learners.
The $100,000 ‘Riser’s Choice’ award, selected by two student parents themselves, was awarded to College Unbound, a bachelor’s degree program for parent learners and working adults.
Other awarded solutions cover a wide variety of students. From organizations like the American Indian College Fund, which helps Native Americans access higher education, to the Prison University Project, which focuses on college for those currently in the prison system, many recipients focus on underserved groups. Other winners included well-known organizations like Edquity and ASU’s Student-Parent program.
A follow-up report is expected to be released by Imaginable Future’s this fall, detailing how the groups have used their award money and the status of their projects.
